The Graduate Assessment Test (GAT™ - SUBJECT) is a discipline-specific assessment mandatory for candidates seeking admission into doctoral (Ph.D.) degree programs across universities in Pakistan.
It evaluates the advanced domain knowledge and subject proficiency of students who have completed 18 years of education (MS/M.Phil or equivalent) in their specialized fields.
Eligibility Requirements
- Candidates must hold a minimum of 18 years of relevant education (MS/M.Phil degree) or equivalent.
- Candidates desiring to enhance their previous score card are eligible to re-take the test.
- Candidates must also qualify for individual university admission policies and interview evaluations.
Test Pattern & Structure
The GAT Subject paper consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) designed according to the candidate's core field of specialization:

Important Test Day Guidelines
- Bring your printed Roll Number Slip and Original CNIC/Passport.
- Arrive at the test venue at least 45 minutes prior to the paper time.
